Going on an overseas holiday can be an exciting experience, but it’s important to plan ahead to ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable and stress-free trip. Here are some things to pack and do before you head out on your overseas trip:

Things to pack (Carry On):
- Passport
- Phone
- Wallet (ensure you have listed international travel with your bank so your cards work)
- Physical credit cards not just on phone
- Drivers License
- House/Car Keys
- COVID Certificate printed & on phone
- Printed confirmation of accomodation booked/if airport transfers booked
- Face mask (& a spare)
- Glasses
- Check country visiting if any paperwork required (print it as a copy if so)
- Portable Battery for phone charging
- Headphones
- Foreign Currency (Cash)
- Pens (more than 1)
- Charging Cables for devices (Laptop, iPad, Phone, Camera etc) (Always a second charger for phone encase of emergency)
- International Adapter
- Camera (if needed) + Memory Card/Battery/Lens etc
- Laptop (if needed)
- Medication (if needed)
- Tampons/Pads (if needed)
- Sunglasses
- Wet wipes
Non Essentials (Carry On):
- Neck Pillow
- Earplugs
- Eye Mask
- Small blanket
- Change of clothes/extra warmth for plane
- Empty water bottle
- Book
- Tissues
- Lip balm
- Eye drops
- Hand sanitiser
- Tooth floss picks
- Gum or Listerine Strips or Toothpaste
- Jewellery
- AirTags
- Medication (encase of emergencies Diarrhoea, pain killers etc)
- International Travel Sim (if necessary)
Things to do:
- Get your outfits sorted a couple of days prior! Sometimes you will discover the clothes you planned to pack need washing before hand!
- Ensure your washing & ironing is up to date so you can pack any item of clothing
- Pack your undies & socks inside your shoes to save space in your luggage
- Remember to throw out rubbish & remove food from the fridge that will expire while you’re gone
- Research your destination to learn about the culture, customs, and language of the country you’re visiting.
- Check the weather forecast for your destination and pack accordingly.
- Make copies of important documents, such as your passport, and store them in a secure location.
- Notify your bank and credit card companies that you will be traveling overseas to avoid any issues with transactions being declined.
- Book accommodations and transportation in advance to save time and money.
- Create an itinerary of the activities you would like to do while on your trip.
- Make sure you have all necessary vaccinations and medications for your destination.
- Ensure you have your COVID certificate on your phone
- Download any important emails to your phone so you don’t need internet to access them
- If you’re planning on shopping, allow for extra space in your luggage
- Take some cash in your local currency to swap at the destination encase any issues with your cards
