If you’ve been collecting Qantas points and are now itching to use them, you may be disheartened when you check the Qantas Classic Reward Availability to discover the lack of flights… Booking Classic Reward seats can sometimes feel like finding a needle in a haystack. It is a real challenge to find any flights yet alone a full return trip. But, don’t fret! We’re here to simplify things for you.
Here are two easy tips to help you finally put those points to good use:
1. Plan Early: 6-10 Months Ahead
The sweet spot for booking Classic Reward seats is around 6-10 months before your desired travel date. Why? Remember for most frequent flyers (Bronze Status), seats are initially released 297 days prior to departure. It’s worth checking right when they are released and then from time to time throughout the next days/weeks/months.
2. Use the Multi-City Search Calendar to Find Qantas Classic Reward Availability
You can use the multi-city search tool to book one way & return flights. This tool lets you view availability across a whole calendar month instead of checking each day one by one like in classic search.
- How to Use:
- Head to the Qantas website.
- Click on the ‘Book’ tab.
- Select ‘Multi-city’.
- Remember to tick ‘Use points – Classic Flight Rewards only’.
- Enter your destinations and hit search!
- The calendar view will show you the availability of reward seats across several days.
