The Ultimate New York Itinerary for first timer Aussies!

Heading to New York? Here is our ultimate 4 day itinerary! (Doesn’t include travel to/from days)

Day 1:

  • Explore Times Square and Broadway, and take a walk along 5th Avenue towards Central Park to see St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Rockefeller Center & many other famous sights you’ll see!
  • Spend the day exploring Central Park, one of the world’s most famous and beautiful urban parks. Rent a bike and ride around the park, or take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the sights and sounds of the city. Some key sights to see are Woodman Rink, Strawberry Fields, Bow Bridge, Sheep Meadow, The Pond & Reservoir but take a map and explore yourself!
  • Enjoy dinner at a restaurant of your choice either find somewhere on your walk get a taxi to Razza Pizza.
  • End the day with a helicopter ride over the city at Sunset (note it is a long commute to helipad plan accordingly)

Day 2:

  • Visit the 9/11 Museum and learn about the tragic events of September 11, 2001
  • Visit world famous Wall Street (although not a lot to see there as everything inside)
  • Take a stroll along Brooklyn Bridge
  • Spend the afternoon in Brooklyn, visiting Dumbo and taking a photo on Washington Street
  • Enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many acclaimed restaurants in Brooklyn.. our pick is Julianas
  • Attend the Brooklyn Nets NBA game at the Barclays Center in the evening

Day 3:

  • Visit the American Museum of Natural History to see the vast collection of artifacts and specimens from around the world. Don’t miss the chance to see the famous giant blue whale in the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life.
  • In the afternoon, head to the Top of the Rock Observatory to see stunning views of the city at sunset
  • Enjoy dinner at Porterhouse NYC (go when still sunlight to enjoy a nice view of the park)

Day 4:

  • Head over to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to see some of the world’s greatest works of art. Be sure to check out the museum’s famous Egyptian collection and the breathtaking rooftop garden.
  • Spend your final day in New York City shopping and sightseeing in Soho. Visit some of the trendy boutiques and art galleries, and be sure to stop by the famous Toy Tokyo store to see the unique collectibles and toys.
  • Catch dinner nearby at Little Italy or Chinatown!
  • In the evening, catch a Broadway show in the Theater District
