Are you tired of constantly striking out when trying to book a reservation at Nobu Malibu? How to Book: The exact process!
Nobu Malibu releases their availability exactly 1 calendar month in advance. NOT 30 days in advance but 1 calendar month. Meaning if you’re looking for the 1st of April, you’ll want to be contacting them on the 1st of March for bookings.
The next thing to know is that you must call them! Do not rely on booking via their website as we have never seen any availability appear there. They likely rely on phone bookings in an attempt to filter out bots or resellers.
You need to call them on the exact minute the call line opens. They take phone bookings from 10am. You will want to call them exactly at 10am. We called them at 10:01am and we were the 34th caller in the queue and only just got a reservation 1 month prior for lunch. Dinner was already booked out!
Try booking a lunch reservation instead of dinner. Lunch is usually always way easier to get in as most people save their fancy outings for dinner + you can see the ocean better during the day anyway!
Weekdays will be easier to get a reservation rather than weekends but you still need to follow the instructions above!
There are sites that sell reservations at Nobu Malibu. We are unsure how legit these sites are so be very careful. Nobu Malibu don’t send out email confirmations and it is all done by the phone so if you buy a booking you’ll likely be buying a reservation under someone else’s name.
Last Minute Plans:
We have seen reviews of people being successful dining at Nobu Malibu just by showing up. Often, they will get no shows and then fill those bookings with walk ins. This may be risky on a weekend but you may get some luck on a weekday especially around off peak times!
Another tip is to call the restaurant directly before lunch time to inquire about any last minute changes to their reservation availability. Mentioning on the phone you can squeeze into any shorter dining times may help.
If you’re staying at a hotel, don’t hesitate to use the concierge service. They have the connections and know-how to help you secure a reservation, even at the most popular spots.
In short, getting a booking at Nobu Malibu comes down to being very prepared and booking early or getting lucky with a walk in! If you follow the tips above, we are sure that you’ll create your own luck with enough persistence!
